Apple Cider Brine for Turkey
Apple Cider Brine For Turkey
Ingredients
- 1 Gallon Cold Water
- 1 Gallon Apple Cider
- 1 Cup Kosher Salt
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 6 sprigs Fresh Thyme
- 6 sprigs Rosemary
- 1 lemon cut in half
- 1 orange cut in half
- 4 Bay Leaves
- 1/4 cup Peppercorns
Preparation
To make the brining solution, dissolve the salt and sugar in 1 gallons of cold water in a non-reactive container (such as a clean bucket or large stockpot, or a clean, heavy-duty, plastic garbage bag.) Add the Apple cider, oranges, lemons, thyme,Bay leaves, peppercorns, and rosemary. Soak Turkey Overnight or Up to 24 hours.
Note: if you have a
big turkey and need more brine than this, use 1/2 cup salt and 1/2 cup
brown sugar for every gallon of water.
